Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home on-site support group
We will be offering an 8 week support group “Healing Hearts” for widow and widowers, every Thursday, beginning on February 9, 2012 through March 22, 2012 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m., at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road, in Fairfield Center. There is no fee for this program. The group will be led by Norma Schmidt, Chaplain at SolAmor Hospice. Living with Loss Support Group
Transformations-Moving Beyond Loss & Grief
Grief is a normal – and sometimes overwhelming – physical, emotional and spiritual reaction to loss or changes in life. This seven session bereavement group series offers support, education and companionship to those who are grieving the death of a loved one. Facilitated by Andrea Rudolph, MSW (Holistic counselor/ coach and chaplain) you will learn ways to cope and move through the pain of grief and loss while honoring your journey and experiences.
When: Mondays evenings bi-monthly (second and fourth Monday)
Dates: 2/13, 2/27, 3/12, 3/26, 4/9, 4/23, 5/14
Time: 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Fee: $15 group, $65 for 5 sessions, $85 for 7 sessions

St. Stephen’s Parish, Trumbull
Bereavement and support group for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one is forming at St. Stephen’s Parish, 6948 Main St., Trumbull. This 10-week program will begin on Wednesday, March 21 from 4-5:30 p.m. or 6:30-8 p.m. Registration required. For more information, call the parish office at 203-268-6217.

Compassionate Friends, Bridgeport Chapter
The Compassionate Friends of Bridgeport is a nondenominational bereavement group for parents whose child has died. The group meets the second Tuesday of the month from 6:45-8:45 p.m. at the Christian Heritage School, 575 White Plains Rd. in Trumbull (red building). St. Vincent’s “We Care” Perinatal Grief Support Group
This is an ongoing group every THIRD Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm until 8:15 pm. in St. Vincent’s Medical Center’s Ambulatory Infusion Center waiting area, Level 3, Elizabeth Pfriem Swim Center for Cancer Care, adjacent to the Medical Center, Bridgeport. Please join us. We’re here to help. The group is for those grieving the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillborn, or newborn death. The group is facilitated by a maternity nurse and a chaplain who are certified grief counselors. Speakers experienced in grief counseling are scheduled periodically. There is no charge for attendance. No registration is required. American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
This group is open to anyone who has lost someone to suicide. The group meets the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Christ and Holy Trinity Church, Mackenzie House (second house next to the church), 59 Myrtle Ave. in Westport (near Town Hall).
