A Positive Memory
for Your Family

A funeral service can provide lasting comfort for the family.

Stories and memories are shared at a funeral that might never otherwise be vocalized.

By bringing people together from all facets of a person's life, you gain sight of a mosaic that better represents the wholeness of that life.

The term 'memorial' is appropriate, because it helps create such a positive memory in the minds of the family. That's not easy to do on your own in the midst of a great loss.

You can look back and know that what you did truly honored your loved one.

Dear Pamala, I've been to many funerals, but I never before appreciated the importance of the director until I saw it first hand for one of my immediate family members. This was one of the most important days in my life, right up there with the birth of my daughter. The proceedings went smoothly, thanks to you. You did a superb job – a magnificent job – and you did it with the grace of a real lady." DAN

Funeral ServicesEvery Family We Serve is Unique

We know that a funeral is a tribute to a life that was important to you. That’s why we are committed to making each service truly reflective of your loved one. We want to help you pay tribute to all the ways this person mattered in so many aspects of their life.

Our aim is make the service as meaningful to you as possible, so we place great emphasis on understanding your individual needs.

Choosing a Service

A funeral is actually not for the person who has passed. Rather, it is an event to help family and friends as they try to accept a loved one’s death. Our goal is to help you create a funeral experience that will be a source of comfort, both now and in the future.

Green Burial

Green burials (also called natural burial) are an alternative to contemporary Western burial methods. They emphasize an approach that is simple and natural, with respect for the deceased and the environment. While considered relatively new, the methods are in fact rooted in historic approaches for burial that pre-date modern methods.

  • Biodegradable caskets and urns are used
  • Simple shrouding of the body may be used without a casket
  • No steel or concrete burial vault is used
  • May use “Eco-embalming” which is similar to traditional embalming procedure using non-toxic Green Burial approved solution
  • Grave markers made of natural field stones are allowed
  • Cremated bodies may also be interred in a green cemetery

At this time, Wooster Cemetery in Danbury (approximately 30 miles from Fairfield) is the only cemetery in Connecticut that has a section devoted solely to green burials

There are two other green cemeteries in the vicinity of our town. The first is Steelmantown Cemetery in Tuckahoe, NJ (approximately 190 miles from Fairfield). The second closest is Greensprings in Newfield, NY near Ithaca (approximately 260 miles from Fairfield).

Immediate Burial/ Direct Cremation

  • This arrangement allows for direct disposition with no visitation and/or viewing.
  • An immediate burial occurs 24 hours after death. A graveside service with family present can be added.
  • A direct cremation occurs 48 hours after death (the shortest period permitted by Connecticut law). A memorial service at a later date may be performed.
