Fairfield CT funeral homes

Dear Pam and Rebecca, I can’t thank you enough for all the comfort and assistance you’ve been to my mother and my family over the past two months. You and your staff have certainly gone above and beyond in helping us. You have provided assistance in areas I never knew funeral homes helped with. But, my guess is that your funeral home is exceptional in this regard. From the moment we met with Rebecca, you have all been outstanding." DAN

Serving Our Community

Our Community • Educational Forums • Recent Articles

Since we were founded in 1952, our funeral home has always tried to give back to the community we serve. Our funeral staff has volunteered their time to the community and continues to financially support the work of many worthwhile organizations. We are volunteers with the Fairfield Rotary Club, the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce, the Inner-City Foundation, the Kennedy Center, Operation Hope, various church boards, Kiwanis Club of Fairfield, and the Bridgeport Rescue Mission.

Little League Team
We have sponsored a local Little League team for over ten years.

Educational Forums
At Shaughnessey-Banks Funeral Home, members of our staff regularly speak to different organizations on a variety of funeral issues. These organizations may include churches, schools, senior centers, veteran’s organizations, independent living facilities, assisted living facilities, nursing homes as well as hospice organizations. Each program is tailored to the audience we speak to and are done as a free community service.

Our new series of seminars and workshops cover the following topics:

Funeral Home Tours
We give tours of the funeral home to various groups including students for educational purposes. Many young people have never been inside a funeral home and many of these tours lead to very interesting discussions.

Fairs and Forums
During the course of any year, we participate in various fairs where we distribute information on funerals and advance planning or grief resources. We are also available for educational panel discussions to answer the questions our community has regarding funerals.

Newspaper Column
Pamala and Rebecca both alternately write columns in the Fairfield Citizen that pertain to a variety of funeral issues. The Funeral Matters article appears in the Friday edition during the last week of each month.
